Time
TIME investigates the tension between measurable time and lived experience. In her photographic compositions, Carine Van Gerven introduces clocks and measuring devices not as instruments of certainty, but as fragile markers within a broader reflection on temporality.

Contained / Uncontained
Contained / Uncontained is a photographic installation composed of eight still lifes. Seven works are presented as identical, enclosed units. Each image is placed on a pedestal and covered by a transparent plexiglass box. An external light source illuminates the objects, reinforcing the separation between image, space, and light.

The Fragility of Peace
The Fragility of Peace examines peace not as an ideal or a final state, but as a condition that is inherently unstable — temporary, vulnerable, and continuously under pressure. Rather than representing war as an explicit event, the work focuses on what precedes it, what sustains it, and what lingers in its aftermath.

In the footsteps of Angela
In the Footsteps of Angela reflects on the evolution of Flemish education through the lens of one institution: Mater Dei in Overpelt, founded in 1920. While rooted in a specific place, the school functions as a mirror for broader social, cultural, and ideological shifts within Flemish society over the past century.
